Indefinite pronouns in Danish tend to change, gaining new features and meanings. On the one hand, these changes concern the pronoun noget being actively used with common gender nouns of very different semantics. On the other hand, the plural form nogle has completely fallen into disuse, remaining solely in writing. The pronoun nogen is being used instead, both with singular and plural nouns. Apparently, these two tendencies are closely related to an abstract vs. concrete opposition in a broad sense of the word “abstract”.
