In 2010 75 years ago the Swedish department was opened in Leningrad / St. Petersburg state university. It was the first Scandinavian department in Russian universities. Institute for Scandinavian Philology of St. Petersburg state university celebrated this event as a jubilee for 4 departments: Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and Netherlandish.
