The article discribes complex sentences which express cause in modern Swedish. Different types of these sentences have specific structural and lexical features. According to these features there are three groups of sentences. Each group has the main type of sentence which is more useful than the other. The sentences with subjunction för are used most often in modern swedish literature because they have free structure which lets the speakers communicate more information.
