The article reviews guide-books about Leningrad St.-Petersburg in Swedish published both in Soviet days and currently. Swedish tourists traditionally use Russian guide-books translated into Swedish as well as guide-books written by Swedish authors and published in Sweden. Guide-books of different epochs are studied critically in terms of their historical accuracy, language and style.
