In the second half of the 20th century the question on specifics of the language of Bible in Sweden came to the forefront, due to the publication of a new Bible translation in 2000. The new concept was not to follow the
conventional path existing for many centuries, but instead to produce a text written in contemporary language legible for any modern Swedish speaker. The language of Bible has certain specific characteristics traced at all linguistic levels. Researchers traditionally focused their attention on the analysis of lexical and morphological features of the text. However in this article we are to concentrate on the syntax that until recently remained unchanged in prior translations of the Bible, analyse the constructions and phenomena which are perceived as integral part of the Swedish Bible language.
