The translators Anna Vasilyevna Ganzen (1869-1942) and Pyotr Gofridovich Ganzen (1846-1930) translated the fairy tales by H.C. Andersen for more than 100 years, but their translations are being published even nowadays. They also translated the dramas by H. Ibsen and many other Scandinavian authors. Their daughter Marianna Petrovna Ganzen-Kozhevnikova (1889-1974) was the first teacher of Danish at Leningrad State University between 1947-1963. She told her students among whom was the author of the article about the translators’ life and work.
