ABOUT SOME PATTERNS IN WORD-FORMATION OF DANISH EVALUATIVE NOUNS AND THEIR STYLISTIC POTENTIAL

The article deals with different types of word-formation of evaluative nouns in Danish. With focus on the evaluative meaning, the present paper interprets the connotative potential of some suffixes (-er, -ing, -ning, -ling, -rian, -ert, -mager), constituents of compounds and some word-elements, that do not fit in well with the category of elements of compounds, or with the category of derivational suffixes. The analyses of formal and semantic structure of the second elements -hoved, -peter, -mikkel, -hans, -dorte, -lars, -karl has shown that they can be regarded as semisuffixes.
