The Norwegian verb tigge “to lie” designates spatial position and belongs to the group of syncretic predicates which are characterized by composite semantics. Analysis of this verb’s application in different contexts makes it possible to describe the evolution of its primary spatial semantics. The consequence is the formalization of the localizer that modifies verbal meaning.
