The article deals with the linguocultural analysis of Swedish stable comparisons which describe affective states of a person (against the background of Russian analogues). The author reveals national and cultural characteristics of the Swedish Language world picture on the basis of lexicographical sources, results of questionnaires filled out by native Swedish speakers and analysis of illustrative contexts cf Swedish literature.
