The status of the society is reflected in its language. The language of the society adapts the changing conditions of the life of people, their ideals, orientat ions and tastes. Deep changes, which took place in the Swedish society in the second half of the XX century, accelerated the process of the language evolution on all levels. The most intense changes are the changes taken place on the level of the vocabulary of Swedish language and its words’ structures.
According to Swedish linguists there are three main tendencies in the development of Swedish language during the last decades. They are: «democratization», «america- nizaition» and «scientification» of the language.
