THE SEMANTIC COMPONENT OF SINGLE ACTION IN VERBAL NOUNS IN NORWEGIAN

This article considers derivation of single action nouns and multiplicative nouns from multiplicative verbs in Norwegian. Two models of such derivation are described: single action nouns usually coincide with the verb stem (the infinitive deprived of the final -e) and belong to the neuter gender, while multiplicative nouns are supplied with the inflection -ing.
